The short version: pretend money, simulated results, not advice. The details are below.

Last updated October 12, 2026.

1. A paper-trading experiment, not advice

Stock Bots vs S&P 500 is a hobby experiment for education and entertainment. Every bot trades with pretend (paper) money. Nothing on this site, in the news feed or in the downloadable spreadsheet is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any stock.

2. Simulated results are not real results

All bot returns are hypothetical. They pay no commissions, fees or taxes, have no slippage, and every trade fills at that day's exact closing price, which real traders often can't get. Simulated results have built-in limits and can look better than real trading would. Past or simulated performance does not predict future results, and any investment can lose money, including all of it.

3. Tracked forward, not backtested

The race started on Oct 9, 2026, with the first trades at that day's closing prices; Gemini's Catalyst joined on Oct 12, 2026. From then on, every trade is recorded the day it happens, using only the scores and prices known at that time. Results are never recalculated with hindsight. On their first day, bots that started fully invested chose from the scores that existed that day.

4. Rankings and picks are rule output, not recommendations

The rankings, scores, picks and "What to do" signals are produced automatically by fixed rules. They don't know your goals, your finances or your tolerance for risk. Decide for yourself, or talk to a licensed professional, before investing real money. A bot you build yourself, its share link and its spreadsheet only reflect the filters and numbers you chose; they are not a recommendation from this site.

5. AI scores and data can be wrong

Earnings-report scores and valuation grades are generated by AI (Claude, by Anthropic) from public filings and can contain mistakes. Prices come from Yahoo Finance and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Earnings dates come from Finnhub. Always check the original sources, such as the company's filings on SEC EDGAR.

6. The site owner may own stocks shown here

The person who runs this site invests real money and may own, buy or sell some of the stocks that appear on this site, at any time, without notice.

7. No affiliation, not an adviser

This site is an independent, non-commercial experiment. It is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer and does not manage money. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), Yahoo, Finnhub, the SEC, S&P Dow Jones Indices or any company shown. Their names only say which tools or data were used. "Gemini's Catalyst" follows rules that Google's Gemini designed when asked; Google has no part in running it.

8. No guarantees

The site, the news feed and the spreadsheet are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. They may contain errors, change or stop at any time. You use them at your own risk, and the site owner is not responsible for any loss or decision based on them.

9. Privacy

Bots you build are saved only in your own browser: nobody else can see them, and they never reach this site. If you enter the tournament, the entry form collects your email only to count your bots (up to 3). Your email is never shown on the site, shared or used to contact you about anything else; your bot's name and the nickname you choose are public.

10. No personal advice

We can't answer questions about what you personally should buy or sell. Questions about how the bots work are welcome.
